This is what the big damn deal is
Here’s the first post on my new book blog: I’m writing a novel. I’m writing the first draft from now to November 30. Ish. I’m doing it as part of National Novel Writing Month so I can win that, but I also hope to make this so much more than a book. I hope to make it an event you guys. I’m not sure what that means but I hope I get you to pay for it. And this blog is about the book. Event....

Are there any historic battles with just a couple...
I’m writing a film scene where two live-action roleplaying teams (LARPers) face off in the snow. One team has maybe a hundred people, the other maybe two hundred or three hundred. The larger team also has stronger soldiers and an ice castle to defend. I know nothing about military maneuvers or tactics, so I want to steal some from history. But most of the battles in the books I bought...

What's your biggest computer efficiency trick?
Mine is using search keywords in the Firefox address bar. First I set up some search keywords. Then I can hit command+L, then “w Napoleon” to search Wikipedia for Napoleon. You can set up bookmarks like this just for frequently visited pages too. Using keywords is a great way to keep your workflow moving, since you can keep your hands on the keyboard and don’t waste time...

It’s a promotion for their new show “White Collar.” They’re measuring and fitting people for shirts that cost $200 off the rack. That is a damn classy promo. UPDATE: I tried to get one but they’d closed the line for the day. Tomorrow I’m traveling to D.C. Somebody do this Friday in my stead!
