What songs do they teach kids in school now?
Alex Balk wondered if kids still learn “She’ll Be Coming ‘Round The Mountain” and “This Land Is Your Land.” I think I learned the former outside school, the latter in it. Also learned “Fifty Nifty United States,” which surprised the thirty-odd-old Balk when I told him.
But hey, I went to a one-building 300-student K-12 Baptist school. Trade-off was we learned Jesus made the animals.
So are the kids still learning songs like those? And for that matter, what do they learn about the Mona Lisa?
