On June 13, the Twitpocalypse will visit upon the earth.

“Very soon the unique identifier associated to each tweet will exceed 2,147,483,647.” That’s 231 - 1, the largest 32-bit number and thus the largest number that certain computer programs can count to. (There aren’t really 2 billion tweets; Twitter started skipping numbers in their count several months ago.) That means that some third-party Twitter programs will break this weekend. It’s the Y2K problem for tweets. Get your tweets in now, and make them good, before the Twitpocalypse comes and makes life direly inconvenient for some of us!1

1Until the programmers release patches or something.
