From a friend on people who start those anonymous hate sites

antikris:

whoever they are, all of those anonymous cowardly snarky tumblrs need to die. who do they think they are? like, microgawkers? nanogawkers snarking on the nanofamous. disgusting. having them follow me reminds me of having one little piece of poo that you JUST CANT SHIT OUT! and then you just get up, because you can’t sit on the john ALL DAY, but you KNOW that that little fucking piece is still in there. you could probably relay that metaphor much more eloquently than i because you have a way with potty talk that i only wish i could obtain.  anyhow, KISSES!!!

I’m writing a piece on how Tumblr is a successor to 4chan. Silly me, I should have predicted it’d spawn trolls too. At least these anonyTumblr jokers don’t know shit about hacking.

UPDATE: Maura mentions that “Trainwrecks” was around before Tumblr. Yeah, I read that. I should be clearer: Trainwrecks, web20losers (if I got the name right), the Young Manhattanite Tumblr — these are all an invasion of a darker kind of blogger into the fairly happy-go-lucky world of Tumblr.

That might be inevitable. But it still kinda sucks for those of us who were having a relatively good time here on Tumblr, free of drama (except when we got in trouble for sleeping with a lot of people, and even that only lasted longer because of these newer darker Tumblrs).

Or maybe it was only the corner of Tumblr that I read that was nice, and the hatemongers were always here and it’s just that the people I read are reprinting them now. Which means this isn’t some big trend, but it still made a little happy part of my life a less happy part.

At least it’s reminded me that I should and can get off the computer more, that I’m lucky to have an easy lifestyle, good work, and the freedom to spend all afternoon in the park, and it’s a sin to waste it reading the blog equivalent of YouTube comments. And all the more reason to work on that group comedy blog — the one where my own contribution will be mercifully minimal.
