With all due respect, I think you might be mistaken. I believe what you meant to say is that a “biblioteca” (or “bible”) can be found in a “library” - and that is correct. It can be. I’ve seen films like “Traffic” and my cousin has a map of Spain so I’m pretty sharp when it comes to matters in other continents like Mexico and Treasure Island. I changed my mind, I love fanfic.

Sadie (7.5) has been doing book copying for a couple years now and they are getting more and more detailed. She spends hours on these. I have a mini-freak-out when I find them. She usually adds a sibling and sometimes changes the gender. With some books she will turn the animal characters into human ones. It’s the study and copy of composition and color that floors me. I have a box I toss these into before they get lost. She loves revisiting them later after not seeing them for months. Then sometimes she copies her own copy. Oh, child brain—I love you!

And while we’re on the topic, some similar but funny bullshit happened on The Onion the other day and then there’s the gold standard, “Truth in Advertising” (2001), which is always worth a revisit.

UPDATE: Also, just two weeks old, Charlie Brooker brought us a brilliant metanews piece at BBC Four’s Newswipe on How to Report the News. Well done, Charlie. (thx, Leo)

Brooker’s news meta-report has the unfortunate timing to come out just before the funnier Onion report, “Truth in Advertising” is pretty solid, but this year’s “Academy Award-Winning Movie” is by far wittier than all others – the tiny fourth-wall-break of “Dude” throws the rest of the exercise into sharper relief – and thus robs me of my enthusiasm in adding the decent “Title of the Song” by Da Vinci’s Notebook. (Best part doesn’t come until about 3:30.)
